2 Degrees Climate Crisis Film Festival -

2 Degrees Climate Crisis Film Festival

The Vancouver Public Library and the Sierra Club are
presenting three days of stimulating films and expert
speakers at the 2 Degrees Climate Crisis Film Festival. Please join us for
these free events at the Central Branch!

1. Big Oil Night (Wednesday, February 21st, 6 PM)
Two films about the oil-industry cover-up of
climate change and the Exxon Valdez disaster. Speaker Dr. Mark
Jaccard (SFU School of Resource and Environmental
Management), a major player in global energy policy,
will lead a lively and likely controversial
presentation and discussion.  (Alma VanDusen & Peter Kaye Rooms, Central
Branch)

2. Energy Evening (Thursday, February 22nd, 6PM)
View three short films about alternative energy.
Speakers from the BC Sustainable Energy Association
will answer all your alternative energy questions.

3. Climate Crisis Saturday (Saturday, February 24th,
all day from 10 AM)

Multiple award winning films, including Being Caribou
and Power Trip.

The highlight of the day is a screening of Al Gore's
An Inconvenient Truth at 1 PM followed by an expert panel
discussion. Panelists will be Bill Taylor (an
Environment Canada Climatologist), Dr. Colin
Campbell (Sierra Club scientist) and Gregor Robertson
(a Vancouver MLA).
