SUSTAINABLE SPRING BREAK 2007 AT MACMILLION SPACE CENTER - Build your own Solar Cooker - March 20th, 2007
SUSTAINABLE SPRING BREAK 2007 AT MACMILLION SPACE CENTER
Looking for something fun and educational to do this March break? We’ve got the perfect solution. This year's spring break programming will focus on a week-long look at sustainability from social, economic, and environmental perspectives. Sustainable Spring Break will feature displays and demonstrations by various organizations from the greater Vancouver area, which have successfully created public awareness programs on issues surrounding our environment and sustainability. Each day, from March 19th to the 24th, we will focus on a central theme: Food, Energy, Climate, Water, Recycling and Transportation, respectively. Event participants will join us to communicate their information through fun, engaging presentations with games, contests, prizes and more! Click here, for more information.
Today we will explore the theme of Energy. Come and discover the inner workings of a Ballard fuel cell, take the David Suzuki Nature Challenge to lessen your environmental footprint and build you own solar food cooker. We hope to uncover more accessible alternative energy options for Vancouverites and find some solutions to this ever-growing concern of the Energy crisis.
