SUSTAINABLE SPRING BREAK 2007 AT MACMILLION SPACE CENTER - Recycled Rockets - March 23rd, 2007
Looking for something fun and educational to do this March break? We’ve got the perfect solution. This year's spring break programming will focus on a week-long look at sustainability from social, economic, and environmental perspectives. Sustainable Spring Break will feature displays and demonstrations by various organizations from the greater Vancouver area, which have successfully created public awareness programs on issues surrounding our environment and sustainability. Each day, from March 19th to the 24th, we will focus on a central theme: Food, Energy, Climate, Water, Recycling and Transportation, respectively. Event participants will join us to communicate their information through fun, engaging presentations with games, contests, prizes and more! Click here, for more information.
Today we will explore the theme of Recycling. Most of us recycle paper, plastics and cardboard at home and at the office, but what about moving beyond the blue box. Did you know that the average Canadian has 25 battery dependent electronic devices in their home? Bring your batteries in to be properly recycled and learn the truth about their life cycle. Also, learn some tips on becoming a responsible shopper, say no to excess packaging!
