Bike to CAP AIDS - June 9th, 2007
The Bike to CAP AIDS Bike-A-Thon is a family-friendly route starting and finishing at Trout Lake. For every $200 raised, the Canada Africa Partnership on AIDS can distribute a bike to an HIV/AIDS worker in Africa. So far, we have distributed over 150 bikes in five countries!
Lack of transportation is a barrier to the spread of HIV/AIDS information. Bicycles are a sustainable, affordable tool in the AIDS pandemic - with this reliable form of transportation, HIV/AIDS outreach workers can reach five times as many individuals and rural communities.
Join us on June 9th! Registration starts at 8:30am, and we ride at 10! At the finish line, we will provide light snacks, and we encourage you to bring a picnic! There will be live music by Kutapira, and a performance by Kesseke Yeo and friends.
