Making your fleet more fuel efficient can turn into big savings for your business.
Less fuel being consumed means less greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere.
Your business will be recognized for taking initiative and making a difference!
The City of Edmonton provided staff training on how to operate City vehicles more efficiently (and safely) and saved over $200,000 in the first year alone. The average fuel consumption reduction was more than 10% and some drivers reduced fuel use by 40%.
If your company has a large vehicle fleet (either cars and light trucks or larger, heavy duty vehicles), encourage the fleet manager to consider a number of the best management practices that are supported by Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency to reduce fuel consumption, vehicle wear, and possibly improve driver safety.
Your company can also contact the City of Vancouver at (604) 871-6911 to find out more about initiatives that the City is engaged in with private and public fleet operators. These currently include the bio-diesel fuel project, the idle free awareness campaign, the car-sharing for fleets initiative, and driver training program.
